President George W. Bush is about to release a book of paintings.
In the 192 page book, photos of sixty-four of his paintings are featured.
The paintings are all of wounded warriors that the former President has come to know through the Bush Institute.
Each of the paintings is partnered with a story that Bush wrote about the soldier depicted, after he spent time getting to know them.
It is but the latest way that he has paid tribute to American soldiers who were wounded in war.
Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors will be available on Tuesday, February 28.
All proceeds will go to the Bush Institute, to continue aiding veterans in their recovery.
An exhibit of the paintings is open March 2 through October 1, 2017, at the George W. Bush Presidential Center on the SMU campus in Dallas, Texas.
