Immel’s Giant Steps Sends Us to WW1 Suffragette America

It is 1916 and Bernie Epperson is active in the American suffragette movement, while WWI rages in Europe.

That’s where Mary Blair Immel’s historical fiction book begins.

From there we go through the story as Bernie continues to struggle for women’s rights, even while the country joins the war.

The books, Immel’s 9th, is designed for high school aged students.

She hopes that it could inspire students to find a love for history, as well as teach them about the difficulties of one hundred years ago.
