On Monday morning, the West Hartford Public Library, in Connecticut, noticed an unusual return.
A copy of W. O. Mitchell’s Who Has Seen the Wind had a note attached.
The note said, “Returning this book to you after too many years. Sorry it has taken so long.”
Upon opening it, the staff realized that the book was nearly 52 years overdue, have been due on September 29, 1965.
Due to the lack of computerized records, the library does not who has had the book for that long.
However, they did wish to let the long-term borrower know that they were grateful for the book’s return.
